Bent in smile

A rosy world;
Rushing blood, playful smiles
A warm protection,
Surrounding you for miles.

Surreal days,
Starry nights
Caressing memories
Cute little fights.

Ignited roads
No darkness, no fear
That elusive feeling
Hell, I’ve been there.

Mere harbingers,
of what lies ahead.
Walk you shall
But you’ll be dead.

Lips bent in smile
those grieves defied.
Shining bright eyes
With tears inside.

Very beautiful. Especially the final four lines.

One thing I'm really bad is getting the meaning of deep poetry...

Verses about beauty, love, hatred, war, I can understand and appreciate;
To understand the modern metaphors is not in my fate.
Which is why a humble request to a bit elaborate...

@ Shan: Those are my fav too.

@ whusoserioustoday: Thanks, much appreciated.

@ Pratyush: But these verses are as straight forward as it gets. And the 'modern metaphors' are conspicuous by its absence.

@ Richa: Thanks Richa.

@ Lan: hey, hey ;-)

Darkness, darkness all around.
Not a speck of light to be found.
Poignant verse, and austerity
In words of beauty abound.

I think your prose works more than your poetry.

Good effort.
:)

Keep Writing

all this beauty, and austerity?
bleh, m only trying to make some fire
with my crappy poetry. ;-)

@ insider: poetry was never my strong suit, this one was just result of some random yet powerful outburst. I agree, I didn't put any effort there.. it just came to me.
And if you don't like doing it here, you can always tell me in private, if I tortured you with it? :-) :-P

Isn't infliction of torture through poetry, a talent to be treasured?

Devz said...

@ sherry: a 'vain' Devashni couldn't agree more. :-)

*Promptly another talent added to my already long list*

@ Just me-

Hahaha...na na, don't worry about that torturing part.

I am not going to let you feel more talented. *Evil grin*

:p

Although I've not the slightest clue of the context, I sense it :)

Really nice.. Some familiar feeling crept up to me while almost halfway through..

And this one rocks :

"Mere harbingers, of what lies ahead. Walk you shall But you’ll be dead."

Bravo!

@ JD, Anty, Ujjwal and Parualandme: With so much encouragement I would have already penned another poetry, if i didn't have some compassion for man kind :-D
